Tour of Honor Rules

General Participation Rules

• All participants must have fully completed the registration process and sign and submit the required waiver before participation.
• Visit as many or as few selected STATE memorials as you want, with whatever route you choose, between April 1, 2026 (0001 hours CT) and October 31, 2026 (2359 hours CT).
• The TOH Admin team has the final say on all decisions related to participation, scoring, flag numbers, and all other matters.

Submission Guidelines

• All submissions must be made through the official Tour of Honor website or mobile app.
• Photograph your rally flag, entire motorcycle, and memorial together unless unsafe or restricted access.
• Photos should be clear and recognizable, in landscape mode, and at an angle similar to what's on Tour of Honor Google Maps, Tour of Honor App or Portal.
• Refer to the Photography Guidelines section for more information on what photos are allowed.
• You may visit each memorial as many times as you wish, but credit will only be given once.
• Upon submission, you are granting non-exclusive, unlimited rights to Tour of Honor to use your photos for marketing purposes.
• False or fraudulent submissions will result in disqualification and may result in permanent ban from participation.
• Scorers will have the final say on all submissions.

Photography Guidelines

• Photograph your rally flag, motorcycle, and memorial together unless doing so is unsafe or has restricted access where a second photo would be required.
• If in doubt, take a second photo.
• Photos should be clear and recognizable, in landscape mode, and at an angle similar to what's on Tour of Honor App, Web Portal, or Google Maps.
• The year on the Rally Flag must be readable and clearly visible in all submitted photos.
• When riding with a pillion (passenger), they (the person) must be clearly visible in the photographs along with their tour flag.
• If the motorcycle can't fit in the photo because of restricted access, or any other reason, you must submit two (2) photos. One with the rally flag and memorial, and a second one with your rally flag and motorcycle as close to the memorial as possible in designated parking areas with enough of the background to identify the area.
• If you are riding in a group, you may submit a single submission for credit as long as everyone's vehicle and tour flags are clearly visible in the photographs.
• Parking on sidewalks or lawns without express permission of caretakers or local law enforcement is not approved by the Tour of Honor.
• Not all state memorials are accessible 24/7. If a state memorial is unavailable due to maintenance, road closure not caused by weather, or other circumstances beyond your control, take a photo of your rally flag and motorcycle at the nearest access point, preferably with a sign mentioning the memorial and reference to the area being closed.
• Photos should be taken in a safe and legal manner, and should not be taken in a way that is illegal or poses a risk to yourself or others.

Finisher's Certificates and Other Awards

• Visit any seven STATE memorials to receive a Finisher's Certificate and Finisher's Pin.
• Alternate ride visits don't count towards the FC as they have their own recognition awards. See each additional ride web page for details.
• A “Jack Shoalmire Award Challenge” award will be presented to the rider who visits the most STATE memorial sites during the 4/1 - 10/31 riding season. The Jack Shoalmire Award Challenge winner will receive the #1 flag in the following year's Tour of Honor as well as free regisatration.
• The Top 10 finishers, based on number of selected STATE memorial sites visited, will be awarded flag #s 1-10 (and free registrations) the following year. Passengers are eligible, refer to the Photography section.
• Visits to auxiliary sites are not considered for Top 10 placement.

Lost Flag Info

• You will be allowed credit for memorials with a facsimile of your flag (your rider number on a piece of paper will do) for up to one week after we hear of the loss. Order a replacement from the online store and one will be mailed to you.
• Previous year flags may not be used for scoring purposes.
• Attaching contact information on the back of your rally flag may be helpful in the event you forget to secure your flag after a memorial visit.
• If you find a flag, leave it there. They may be returning back for it already. If you can, email us the location and the flag number and we'll put the word out.

Safety and Conduct

• THIS IS A SELF-DIRECTED RIDE AND WHATEVER DECISIONS YOU MAKE REGARDING VISITING THE SUGGESTED SITES ARE YOURS. MOTORCYCLING IS INHERENTLY UNSAFE AND TOUR OF HONOR, LLC ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR RIDERS AND THEIR SAFETY.
• Safety is the top priority. Do not take unnecessary risks while traveling or visiting memorials.
• Vehicles must be in safe operating condition and must be street legal and properly registered in your state or province.
• All participants must have valid driver's licenses and insurance as required by law.
• Respect private property and posted signs at memorial locations.
• Be mindful of weather conditions and plan accordingly.
• Report any safety concerns or issues to Tour of Honor administrators immediately.

Changes to Rules

Tour of Honor reserves the right to modify these rules at any time. Participants will be notified of significant rule changes through the website and email communications. Continued participation after rule changes constitutes acceptance of the updated rules.
